Powering Kuwait’s future aviation hub. Rolls-Royce and Al Mulla Power Solutions are delivering MTU diesel gensets for Kuwait International Airport’s new terminal.

The recent announcement by Rolls-Royce highlights a significant milestone in Kuwait’s aviation infrastructure development. Supported by local partner Al Mulla Power Solutions (AMPS), seven mtu Series 4000 DS3600 diesel gensets are being delivered for the new Terminal 2 at Kuwait International Airport.

Each 20-cylinder unit is engineered for high-load performance and exceptional reliability, even in ambient temperatures reaching 55°C. These backup-power systems will safeguard critical operations, including the catering facility and central energy systems, and will play a vital role in supporting the airport’s expansion under Kuwait Vision 2035, where uninterrupted power remains essential for a projected capacity of up to 50 million passengers annually.

mtu gensets have established a global reputation, with more than 85,000 installations across airports, data centres, hospitals, and industrial facilities. Their diesel and gas solutions, together with dynamic UPS systems, provide assured performance in demanding environments.

AMPS will undertake on-ground works and commissioning, scheduled for completion in early 2026, reinforcing continued support for Limak and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in developing one of the Gulf region’s most advanced aviation hubs.
